Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 2, 2026
Who we are
SethRicks.org — together with its services and the commitments in this policy — is owned and operated by Northslate LLC, a United States limited liability company, acting through Seth Ricks. All privacy commitments previously made by Seth Ricks (sole proprietor) for SethRicks.org are assumed in their completeness by Northslate LLC; "we" and "us" in this policy mean Northslate LLC. This policy explains what information the site collects and what happens to it. Questions? Email hello@sethricks.org.
The public contact form
The contact form on the main site opens your own email program with the details filled in, and the message reaches Seth only if you choose to send it — just like writing an email yourself. That form itself doesn't store anything in a database. (The client portal below is separate and does store account information.)
Your account and the client portal
If you create an account in the client portal, that part of the site stores information so you can log in and track your project:
Sign-in (our authentication provider): your email address, your name, whether your email is verified, and — depending on how you sign in — a Google sign-in identity or a securely-hashed password. Seth never sees your password.
Profile & project details (our cloud provider's database): your name, business or project name, optional phone number, the onboarding answers you provide (what your business does, goals, brand/logo links, sites you like, domain preferences), your project's status and website link, and any support requests plus the message threads between you and Seth.
Anything you type into free-text fields — your onboarding answers and the messages in a support thread — is stored as you wrote it and may include whatever personal or business details you choose to share, so please don't include sensitive information you don't want kept on file. As the sole operator, Seth can access your account information, onboarding answers, project details, and support messages in order to build and support your website; access is limited to Seth.
This information is used only to deliver and support your website, communicate with you, and keep ordinary business records. We keep it while you have an account or active project, and afterward as needed for our business and legal/accounting records (see "Your rights and choices" below for how to request deletion).
Files you upload, previews, and feedback
Depending on your project, the portal also handles a few kinds of files and content, stored with our cloud provider (file storage and database) and accessible only to you and Seth:
Photo uploads: images you upload for your site are stored so Seth can build with them.
Private previews & feedback: a private preview of your site is viewable only by you (when signed in) and Seth, and is shared for your review only — it stays Seth's property (see the Terms). If you use the on-page feedback tool, your comment, the element or spot you pointed at, and an overlay image of your marks and their position on the page are saved so Seth can act on them. We do not store a screenshot of the page's contents — only your marks and where they sit.
Payments
The one-time build fee and the monthly maintenance subscription are handled entirely by Stripe, through Stripe-hosted checkout and the Stripe Customer Portal. Your card and billing details go directly to Stripe and are covered by Stripe's own privacy policy — Seth never sees or stores your full card number. We receive only basic, non-sensitive transaction and subscription information from Stripe (for example, that a payment succeeded or a subscription was cancelled), which Seth records against your portal account to show your plan and status. With a payment method on file, Stripe may also process one-off charges you've authorized for additional work or costs (see the Terms).
Email we send you
To reply to your requests or send service updates, Seth may email you from hello@sethricks.org using Brevo (formerly Sendinblue), an email-delivery service. Brevo receives your email address, the subject, and the contents of that message in order to deliver it.
Hosting and server logs
This site is hosted on a major U.S. cloud provider that handles hosting, sign-in, database, and app functions. Like nearly every web host, the provider keeps standard server access logs, which can include your IP address, browser/user-agent, and the date and time of your visit. These logs are a normal part of hosting and security.
Browser storage
The site saves a couple of functional values in your browser's localStorage: sr-theme and sr-portal-theme remember your chosen visual style. If you sign in to the portal, our authentication provider also stores session/token data in your browser so you stay logged in. These are functional only — not used for tracking or advertising — and you can clear them by signing out and/or clearing your browser's site data.
No tracking, no data sales
We don't use analytics tools, advertising trackers, or third-party advertising cookies, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. The only routine third-party request on every page is to Google's font and software CDNs (see "Service providers we use" below), which receive your IP address to serve those files but are not used to track you.
Service providers we use
We share data only with the providers that make the service work, each under its own privacy terms: Stripe (payments and subscriptions), a major U.S. cloud provider (hosting, sign-in, database, file/photo/preview storage, and functions), and Brevo (delivering email Seth sends you).
Our pages also load web fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com) and load our app's code libraries from a content delivery network (gstatic.com). When your browser fetches these files, Google receives your IP address and browser/user-agent as part of that standard request. We don't use them for tracking or advertising — but if you'd rather they never load, a content blocker can stop them.
Security
Accounts are protected by our cloud provider's authentication, and your data is stored on that provider's infrastructure. Administrative email is sent using a key kept on the server, never in your browser. No method of storage or transmission is ever 100% secure, but we take reasonable care to protect your information.
Your rights and choices
In the portal you can review and update your details and onboarding answers in Settings, and change your password. You can also close your account with the "Close my account" button: this disables your login and signs you out, but it does not by itself erase your profile, onboarding answers, project information, or support history — those are kept for our business and legal/accounting records — and it does not cancel your subscription. To stop billing, cancel anytime in the Stripe Customer Portal (we also email you the link when you close your account). If you'd like your personal information fully deleted, email hello@sethricks.org and we'll take care of it, apart from the minimum we're required to keep for legal/accounting records. We don't sell your personal information.
Children's privacy
This site and client portal are meant for businesses and adults, and are not directed to children under 13. Accounts shouldn't be created by minors. If you believe a child has provided information, email hello@sethricks.org and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
